An historic first for Voyages to Antiquity, this grand cruise combines our maiden circumnavigation of the British Isles with Iceland’s gushing geysers, rumbling volcanoes and creeping glaciers.

The small island of Heimaey is followed by Iceland’s cosmopolitan capital of Reykjavik, where the famous Golden Circle includes Thingvellir National Park. Sail to the maritime museum of Isafjordur, on the edge of the Arctic Circle, followed by the lava craters of Akureyri. The charming harbour of Husavik is home to the geothermal Myvatn Nature Baths, then explore Scottish castles and the remote Viking settlements, on your journey south to Guernsey in the English Channel.

On the Cornish coast of England, see the world's largest global garden, the Eden Project. Explore the Abbey Gardens of Tresco and step ashore in Wales, before crossing the Irish Sea to Dublin, one of Europe’s finest cities.

Scotland is a place of many iconic sights, including Inveraray Castle and the Old Man of Storr. Then take a trip to Hadrian’s Wall or the Holy Island of Lindisfarne, followed by York on the east coast, a cathedral city with an internationally renowned Viking past.

Tilbury
Tilbury is located on the north bank of the River Thames, in the borough of Thurrock in England, at the point where the river suddenly narrows to about 740 metres in width. Tilbury is a modern town, which is home to one of Europe’s largest container ports, together with a international cruise terminal.

To the west of Tilbury is the popular Lakeside shopping complex, and the Queen Elizabeth II bridge, the longest cable-stayed bridge in Europe.To the East is St. Catherine’s Church which is possibly on the site of one of the first Christian monasteries developed in the 7th C. Henry VIII built riverside block houses at East and West Tilbury, these later becoming Coalhouse and Tilbury Forts.

Reykjavik
Located in the North Atlantic Ocean, directly east of Greenland, Iceland is Europe's westernmost country and the second largest island in the North-Atlantic ocean. Its capital, Reykjavik holds practically half of Iceland’s entire population, perhaps not surprising considering how little of the country is actually habitable. As such it is the country’s unrivalled cultural and economic centre surrounded by a vast wilderness of mountains and glaciers.

The city’s highlights are mostly found in central Reykjavik: lining Old Town and Lake Tjornin are attractive tin houses, some of the more historical buildings, and many of its restaurants and nighttime hotspots. Its nightlife is legendary, with all-night street parties in summer and a huge club scene year-round. The nearby surrounding wilderness offers walking trails at Videy Island or the lava area at Heidmork, is definitely worth a visit. At "Smoky Bay" you can see geothermal steam rising from the ground. Harnessed to heat the city, these smoke signals can be seen along with any number of natural wonders, half an hour out of town.

Torshavn
Tórshavn is the capital of the Faroe Islands. It is located in the southern part on the east coast of Streymoy, Denmark. To the north west of the town lies the 347-metre (1,140 ft) high mountain Húsareyn, and to the southwest, the 350-metre (1,100 ft) high Kirkjubøreyn.

The town is a charming blend of old and new. In the area around the harbour lies Tinganes where the ‘old town’ of Tórshavn is located. The small colorful houses are an attraction in the town, as is Skansin, an old fortress built over the harbour. Five minutes walk from the harbour is the city-centre Vaglið. Here is also Løgtingið, the Faeroese parliament. Nearby are shops, restaurants, hotels and a cinema.

Falmouth
Falmouth is a seaport on the River Fal on the south coast of Cornwall, England, UK. Falmouth’s natural harbour is the third largest deep-water harbour in the world, the traditional gateway to the Atlantic and one of the world’s great sailing harbours. The world-class National Maritime Museum is testimony to Falmouth’s rich maritime history.

The town’s shopping streets lie just off the waterfront and are connected by small opeways offering tantalising glimpses of the water and link the harbour with a charming mix of shops and art galleries. Cafés and restaurants offer a selection of both world and local cuisine. Within walking distance you will find beaches offering safe, crystal clear waters, sandy stretches and secluded coves.

Edinburgh
Edinburgh is the capital of Scotland, part of the United Kingdom, located in the Central Belt region of the country. Watched over by the imposing Castle - the symbol of the city - Edinburgh combines medieval relics, Georgian grandeur and a powerful layer of modern life with contemporary avant-garde. You are able to see the whole of Edinburgh from the top of Edinburgh's Arthur's Seat, an extinct volcano which is one of Edinburgh's top tourist attractions.

The throbbing night-life centre of the Scottish north, Edinburgh - "the Athens of the North" is also a feast for the mind and the senses, playing host to great restaurants, shops and an unequalled program of city festivals throughout the year. Hogmanay - the Scottish New Year - kicks off the festivities, which culminate in the high summer with the Tattoo, the International and the Fringe, amongst many others.

The Old Town area of Edinburgh, with its crowded testaments, stands in complete contrast to the highly organized grid of Edinburgh's New Town area. The Old and New Towns of Edinburgh were listed as World Heritage Sites by UNESCO in 1995. There are stunning views from almost every street and many popular tourist attractions throughout Edinburgh.
